Beyond the Bandage: Building a Sustainable Framework for Community-Based Wound Care
with Jonathan Lo
This presentation is released on Monday, January 18, 2027.
Chronic wounds fall disproportionately on people experiencing homelessness, yet student-led street medicine programs often lack standardized ways to assess them. A needs assessment under development pairs patient-reported concerns with clinician documentation of wound characteristics, treatments provided, and referral needs. Findings are intended to inform a future wound care framework spanning patient education, supply recommendations, and referral pathways into longitudinal care.
