The Loudest Silent Team Member: Improving Interactions with Interpreters
This presentation is released on Monday, January 18, 2027.
Based on training as a qualified Spanish interpreter and undergraduate linguistics studies, this talk examines how clinicians can work more effectively with interpreters. It covers best practices, the ethics and techniques interpreters are trained in, and cultural and linguistic issues in interpretation, aiming at clearer connection with patients who have limited English proficiency and stronger language equity in medicine.
