Surviving the Holidays with Diabetes: a Rural Community Education Event
with Abbey Rieber and Nanci VanPeursem, MD
This presentation is released on Monday, January 18, 2027.
Partnering with a rural hospital, this community education event drew about 50 attendees, 35 of whom joined a presentation on diabetes management, lower-sugar and lower-carbohydrate food substitutions, and lifestyle strategies for blood glucose control. Ten booths offered dental, vision, nutrition, pharmacy, and glucose monitoring resources alongside screening stations. Verbal feedback was largely positive, and the materials remain with the hospital for potential future use.
