Are We Teaching What Teens Need? A Needs Assessment of Adolescent Health Training Amongst Medical Students
with Lacey Person, MSIII and Sinduja Lakkunarajah, MD
This presentation is released on Monday, January 18, 2027.
With no standard guidelines for sexual health education across U.S. medical schools, students reach adolescent care with differing levels of comfort and preparedness. A pre-event survey mapped baseline comfort with sexual health, STIs, and pregnancy, and those responses shaped an educational session with mock patient cases. A follow-up survey is planned to reassess confidence, and data collection is still underway.
